URGENT: I want to hear from you — in every state — and I need to hear from you sooner rather than later.

Hello Everyone,

I know I’ve continued to be a little quiet on Substack. That’s because I’ve been working pretty intensely behind the scenes with the team — following the data, pulling together evidence, seeing where it leads, and working on initiatives that can make a difference before the midterms.

So, you know the song No Sleep til Brooklyn? Around here, we’re operating on a slightly different philosophy: No. Sleep. Till. Midterms.

Now I need your help.

And I want to be very clear: This is nationwide. It does not matter what state you live in. I want to hear from you.

And this one is time-sensitive. With the midterms approaching, there is a window right now to act on what we are finding before another election takes place. If you’ve experienced one of the problems below, please don’t wait to reach out. What happened to you could help us understand the bigger picture — and help protect the 2026 midterms before a single ballot is cast.

And if none of this happened to you, I still need your help. Please share this post far and wide — you may be the person who helps me find someone it did happen to.

I’m looking to speak with people who have personally experienced either of the following:

VOTING PROBLEMS

Did you have trouble voting in the 2024 election — or in an election since then?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who:

• Showed up to vote and were told they were no longer registered

• Were unexpectedly removed or purged from the voter rolls

• Had to cast a provisional ballot

• Were told their ballot would not be counted

• Had a mail ballot rejected or never received

• Discovered that their voter registration information had been changed

• Experienced another problem that prevented them from voting or having their vote counted

BUSINESS OWNERS

I’m also looking to speak with small-business owners whose businesses have been seriously harmed — or forced to close — because of sharply increased operating costs.

That could include businesses affected by tariffs, higher fuel or transportation costs, increased costs for materials or imported goods, supply-chain costs, or other significant cost increases.

And I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone whose business was directly impacted by DOGE. Did you lose a federal contract or grant? Did DOGE-related cuts eliminate a major customer, force you to lay off employees, cancel an expansion, or cause you to close your doors? Were you, quite literally, “cancelled” by DOGE?

One last thing. I hate taking time away from this work to fundraise — especially right now. Every hour I spend asking for money is an hour I’m not spending getting the data we have into the hands of people who can help put it to use — or working with the team on other ways we can make a difference before the midterms.

But that creates a Catch-22: the only way to spend less time fundraising and more time doing the work is to raise enough money to give this effort the resources it needs.
